Hazardous Weather Warnings

Shake, rattle and roll was not due to listening to Elvis on his birthday today. Instead it was just due to the coldest day of the year so far! Cold air and windy conditions created a hazardous wind chill in Decatur County Wednesday night and will not let up until Saturday when the temperature will “almost” rise to the freezing mark, according to the National Weather Service. Sunday, as the temperature does rise slightly, and precipitation chances return to the area. That could be a problem, depending on whether the cold air remains in the area. Some weather stations are calling for freezing rain..

DCMS defeats Scotts Hill

Decatur County Middle School basketball teams traveled to Scotts Hill Thursday night and left with wins over the Lions. The Lady Panthers won by a score of 37-15 and the Panthers defeated Scotts Hill 45-24.
