Funeral services for Fred French, 79, were held Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Parsons Mortuary Chapel with Mike Yarbro and Greg Stanford officiating. Interment followed at Cub Creek Hall Cemetery with a flag ceremony by the Veterans Honor Guard.
Mr. French passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Decatur County Manor.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alice Warren and J. B. French; a brother, Jack French; and a sister, Jessie Myrick.
Mr. French is survived by his wife, Peggy Greenway French of Parsons; a son, Freddy (Vicki) French of Parsons; two granddaughters, Heather (Jeremy) Gibson and Wendy (Mark Alan) French Barrett; five great-grandchildren, Kelley Haneline, Lacey Gibson, Mercedes Gibson, Kaydence Gibson and Lyric Gibson; and a brother, Charles (Bill) French of Nashville.
Serving as pallbearers were Robert Lindsey, Dennis Chumney, David Wilbanks, Keith Grace, Jerry Crowell, Danny Tanner, Anthony McCormick and Johnny Pratt. Honorary pallbearers were Jerry Webb, Ralph Quinn, Tony Quinn, David Keeton, J. R. Wilson, Tony Taylor, Harry Lynn Alexander and John Webb.
