Ada "Onie" Bennett Mitchell

Ada “Onie” Bennett Mitchell, 101, of Parsons, passed away Sunday, Jan. 17, 2021 at AHC Decatur County. Ms. Mitchell was born May 11, 1919 to the late Bryan Dean and Georgia Lovell Dean in Rogersville, AL. She was also predeceased by two husbands, James Herbert Bennett and Edward Mitchell; three brothers, Cecil Dean, Richard “Buster” Dean and Buddy Dean; and four sisters, Sallie Hill McGee, Opal Wyle, Odell Dean and Maudie Dean. She was a homemaker and a member of Sardis Methodist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Sarah (Bill) Reeves of Darden and Ann (Gene) McCoy of Potts Camp, Miss.; a son, James (Beth) Bennett of Memphis, Tenn.; grandchildren, Randy Inman (Pam), Belinda Tucker (Scott) and Ross Allen (Katy); step-grandchildren, Jeff McCoy (Angel), Mark McCoy (Lisa) and Rick McCoy; five great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; nine step-great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Oakdale Funeral Home with Bro. Kevin Bromley officiating. Burial will follow at Graham Chapel Cemetery at 17260 TN 69 in Savannah, Tenn.

Visitation with the Mitchell family will be Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. until service at 11 a.m.
