Dorthy Jean Eason, 91, of Sardis, Tenn., passed away peacefully Sunday, May 2 at her home.

Jean was the valedictorian of her senior class at Sardis High School. She was a member of Saltillo Church of Christ, a retired school secretary and a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Eason; and her parents, Ovid and Hester Wylie.

Mrs. Eason is survived by a daughter, Shelia (Anthony) Bridges of Sardis; two sons, Dwight (Marilyn) Eason of Sardis and David Eason (Tina Miller) of Sardis; and a sister, Gail (Donald) Wade of Sardis.

She is also survived by five grandchildren, Shane (LeAnn) Bridges, Blake (Laura) Bridges, Lori (Gabe) Williams, Josh (Brandy) Eason and Brooke Eason; and eight great-grandchildren, Aiden, Addy, Parker and Preston Bridges, Lacey and Carly Williams and Tanner and Gatlin Eason.

Her funeral service will be held at Reed's Chapel, Scotts Hill, at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 5 with David Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5 till 9 p.m., and Wednesday 10 a.m. until service at Reed's Chapel - Scotts Hill.

Face masks are required at the visitation and funeral service.
