John B. Ivey, 89, of Decaturville, passed away Monday, Sept. 20, 2021 at Henderson County Hospital in Lexington, Tenn.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Box Ivey of Decaturville; daughter, Patsy (James) Tillman of Decaturville; sister, Shirley Renfroe of Lexington, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mattie Horton Ivey; father, William C. Ivey; sons, Ronnie Ivey and Ricky Ivey; brothers, Lawson Ivey, Martin Ivey and J C Ivey; and sister, Betty Roach.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021 from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. at Grays Chapel Pentecostal Church in Decaturville. Visitation will continue on Thursday, Sept. 23, 2021 from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service at Grays Chapel Pentecostal Church. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 23, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Grays Chapel Pentecostal Church with burial to follow at Grays Chapel Cemetery in Decaturville.

Mr. Ivey's family request masks to be worn and social distancing practiced during all visitation hours and funeral service.
