Rickey Ted Sparks, 68, of Decaturville, Tenn., passed away Thursday, July 15, 2021 at his home surrounded by family.

He taught in the Decatur County School System for 40 years before retiring. Rickey was a faithful member of Parsons church of Christ.

Rickey is survived by his wife, Pat Coleman Sparks of Decaturville; a daughter, Lindsay (Mark) Beasley of Decaturville; two sons, Richard (Karmen) Sparks of Jackson, Tenn.; Adam (Bev) Sparks of Knoxville, Tenn.; a sister, Lesa (Jeff) Lewis of Decaturville; a brother, Terry (Emily) Sparks of Decaturville.

He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Devin Sparks, Seth Beasley, Katelynn Jackson, Colby Sparks, Alec Beasley, Bayleigh Sparks, Caitlyn Sparks and Izak Beasley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Genita Ivy Sparks.

His funeral service will be held at Reed's Chapel in Decaturville at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 17 with Adam Sparks and Martin Klamm officiating. Burial will follow at Concord Cemetery near Decaturville.

Visitation will be Friday from 4 until 8 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. until service. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to: Parsons church of Christ or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
