Verna Dean Stricklin, 86, of Decaturville, passed away Monday, Jan. 13, 2020 at Decatur County General Hospital.

She was retired from Emerson Electric in Humboldt and had worked at Milan Arsenal. She was a Baptist, a homemaker, a seamstress and loved gardening and working in her flowers.

Mrs. StricklinĀ isĀ survived by her husband, Ray Stricklin of Decaturville; a daughter, Jacqueline (Butch) Brasher Linton of Decaturville; a son, Melvin Glenn Brasher of Decaturville; and a sister, Mary Nell Keeton of Decaturville.

She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Michael Linton, Mark A. (Penny) Linton, Nichalas J. Linton, Samantha (Matt) Porter, Derrick (Laura) Brasher, Tabitha (Randy) Camper, Tiffani (Brice) White and Ashley Brasher; 18 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Tony "Jaybird" Brasher; parents, Albert and Lena Mae Pulley; siblings, Alvin, Arnold, Ed and Austin Pulley, Mae Pope, Zula Alley, Marshalene Pulley and an infant sister.

Funeral service will be held at Reed's Chapel, Decaturville at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 15, with burial to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday 11 a.m. until service.
