Wayne Cruse

Wayne Cruse, 80, of Decaturville, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family.

Wayne was a retired department manager at LSI in Manchester, Tenn. He had worked several years for Decaturville Sportswear as a cutting room supervisor. He was a member of Perryville Baptist Church where he previously taught Sunday School. He was the founder of the Perryville Boxing Club. Wayne was an avid Riverside sports fan and could be found at all the ballgames and at any event his grandchildren were in. He loved playing golf until he became unable to play due to health issues.

Wayne is survived by three daughters, Missy (Bob) Jones, Tabby (Terry) Harrington and Jowayna Cruse Woods, all of Decaturville; a sister, Judy (Tommy) Montgomery of Perryville, Tenn.; three brothers, Pete (Jean) Cruse of Parsons; R.M. (Mary) Cruse of Philadelphia, PA and Jack Cruse of Perryville.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jeremy Montgomery, Jennifer Blankenship, Colby Jones, Clayton Edgin, Lauren Oliver, Laken Frost, Colby Harrington, Cruse Woods and Casilyn Woods; and by 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce A. Cruse; a daughter, Tina Montgomery; a brother, Leon Cruse; and by three sisters, Lorene Parrish, Ann Brasher and Carolyn Byrd.

His funeral service will be held at Reed's Chapel in Decaturville at 2 p.m. Monday, June 7, 2021 with Bro. Rodney Hardin and Bro. Tracy McCormick officiating. Burial will follow at Perryville Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. until service.

The family request no food be brought to the funeral home.
