MEMPHIS, Tenn. (July 22, 2021) – Marly Coleman, O.D., of Parsons, Tennessee, was among 134 students recently awarded the Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis. Coleman graduated magna cum laude and was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honorary Scholastic Fraternity, a designation for students who demonstrate exceptional academic achievement.

A native of Parsons, Coleman is the daughter of Mona and Nathan Coleman and the granddaughter of Frances and Jerry Coleman and Linda Wallace. Coleman is a graduate of Riverside High School and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Optometrists are independent, primary health care providers who specialize in the examination, diagnosis, treatment and management of diseases/disorders of the visual system, the eye and associated structures, as well as the diagnosis of related systemic conditions.
